God’s Word is Enough

Christ's heart

GOD’S REMINDER: The Pharisees objected, “All we have is your word on this. We need more than this to go on.” Jesus replied, “You’re right that you only have my word. But you can depend on it being true.” (John 8:12-13 MSG)

NOTE TO SELF: So many non-believers want “proof” that God exists. God has shown Himself to be real in so many ways, all one has to do is look around. But if that doesn’t seem to satisfy the non-believer what else is there? God’s Word.

Jesus told the Pharisees—the non-believers—that all they had was His word, and He followed it with a promise: you can depend on it being true. I know Christ’s statement to be a fact, because His Word became true in my life—and so many others!

I knew nice little bible stories from Catholic school, but I never knew the meat of the Bible before I got saved. It was only AFTER I gave my life to Christ and was utterly transformed, when I began to read the Bible and found scripture after scripture “proving” that everything that happened and was happening to me was promised as “proof.”

God’s Word is enough, because in it, He promises new life—which He is faithful to give to those who ask. I asked. I received. Thus, God’s Word is enough.

What does anyone have to lose if they believe in God? If He’s not real, you’ve lost nothing in life! In fact, if anything, you gained so much. Even if God is not real in the end, my life was better for believing in Him.

But if God is real, and you chose NOT to believe, what then? Imagine all you will have lost in your life? Is the darkness of your life a better option than having the Light of the world change you and heal you?

By opening your heart and mind to hear God speak in your life, you have nothing to lose. NOTHING! While the Pharisees asked for more, Christ is more than willing to prove to you that He is real and will do as He promises to do. All you have to do is ask.

Stop seeking proof, and instead seek truth. It’s easy to find…in God’s Word.
