“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9 ESV)
NOTE TO SELF: What does strong support look like?
Consider this upcoming Presidential election. I am a strong supporter of my candidate. I boost him up every chance I get. I speak the truth about him. I share the facts. I back him up and defend him when false accusations come against him. I’m working hard to encourage others to vote and to make a difference in our country.
If I do that much for a Presidential candidate (and I do even more on God’s behalf!), then how much more does “strong support” look like from God’s point of view to those who are “blameless toward Him”?
Notice the scripture doesn’t say “blameless before Him.” There’s a difference. We can never be blameless before Him; not without Christ’s intervening on our behalf. But are we blameless toward Him? Meaning, are we in a covenant with Him? Are we faithful to Him? Are we strong supporters of God?
God searches the whole earth…for us.
