NOTE TO SELF: Still. No matter how good we are, no matter how bad we are. No matter how much we disappoint ourselves or others. No matter how far we fall. No matter what slipped out of our rotten mouths. No matter who we’ve hurt. No matter…
God is still YOUR God.
He is your God. Yours. Get that? Moses didn’t claim God for himself. He continuously reminded the Israelites that God was their God. He said:
“You are children of God, your God…” Deuteronomy 14:1a
He made God personal to them. He needed them to always remember that it wasn’t about him, or what was happening around them. God wasn’t Moses’ God, or Joshua’s God, but YOUR God. Although God may use others in ways He doesn’t use you, He is still YOUR God. He needs—and desires—you to know that simple truth: He is yours. Still.
PRAYER: O, God, how blessed we are to have You as our God. Our Father. Our provider. Our comfort. Our love. Our hope. Thank You, Lord, that You crave us to understand that our relationship with You is personal and intimate. But mostly, thank You that no matter what we do You will always be our God.
JOURNAL: When you write about God, make Him personal like you do when you talk about someone significant in your life (my husband, my best friend, etc.). Make God your God.
