NOTE TO SELF: We are never alone, even in our loneliest moments. This isn’t human comfort, because God is not human. This is “holy” comfort from The Holy One. He’s not just “in” your very midst, it’s where He resides. Those moments when you feel God is gone…He’s in your midst. Those silent days when you believe God had abandoned you…He is in your midst. When you are heartbroken, crying into your pillow…He is in your midst. When a loved one dies and you feel lost…He is in your midst. When you celebrate a new life, a new beginning, or a new outlook…He is in your midst. Good or bad, God PROMISES, “And I’m here…in your very midst.”
PRAYER: Father, thank You for putting it in writing that You are always in our very midst. No matter what we are experiencing in life, let us be acutely aware, Lord, that You are there. Amen.
JOURNAL: Write about a time when you felt God’s presence. Then write about a time when you felt God was nowhere to be found. After each entry, write the words, “God was in my very midst.”
