July 1: God Devotion

NOTE TO SELF: We can see, quite literally, the ramifications ourselves of what a country looks like without God. God warned us about this, yet we haven’t learned. God told us exactly what a country would look like with, and without Him.

If we look back to the beginning of the founding of our country, you will quickly see how strong we were. The founders had something to fight for: freedom! WE have something to fight for, even today: freedom. With each new day, more and more of our freedoms are being taken from us. Our great and strong country is being weakened. We witnessed it firsthand on 9/11. What’s worse is that it’s now being weakened from within.

We have taken God out of schools, out of justice, out of the law, out of the public, off our shirts and caps, out of the Pledge of Allegiance, and even out of prayer! How that’s even possible is beyond me, yet politicians and atheists have found unique and clever ways to get God out of prayers and memorial services. It’s utterly shameful. And it should concern all of us, because God warned us that without Him in any country, the people will be weakened.

PRAYER: Lord God, I lift up this great country: The United States of America. A country founded on the principles of freedom and faith. We have lost our way, Father. We have wandered off the path. Please draw this country back to Your loving arms! Have mercy on those, O God, who don’t know just how badly they are weakening us. Keep Your people safe, Lord. Keep those who are faithful to you under Your protective wing when it all falls apart. No matter what freedoms are taken way, God, we will remain free in Christ. Amen.

JOURNAL: Make a list of our country’s strengths. Are they at risk of being weakened because God is not the focus anymore?
