What He Said!

note to self tag

MY PRAYER: Lord, I’m the biggest offender of riding the roller coaster of loving myself and hating myself. I realize that when I don’t like myself, I don’t seem to like You very much either.

When I look in the mirror, I see what the world wants me to see, rather than what You want me to see. I tend to then feel small and unworthy of love, determined that You, too, must see me that way.

There are many people who can’t like themselves enough to be true to themselves. They get lost in changing how they look on the outside, in hopes of being loved for who they are on the inside. Worse yet, Father, many people hide their inner selves in hopes that they will be loved according to what everyone expects them to be.

REMINDER FROM GOD: The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way…Open your lives. Live openly and expansively.

Don't compare yourself with others. There's a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again. Such God-denying people are never content with what they have or who they are. What the world calls smart, I call stupid! Men and women judge by looking at the face. I look into the heart.

Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness [with Me]. But that doesn't mean you should all look and speak and act the same. Your old self is dead. Your new life, which is your real life…is with Me. I AM your life.

Anyone who tries to live by his own effort, independent of Me, is doomed to failure. And so be transfigured in the likeness of Me and your lives will gradually become brighter and more beautiful. I will bring out the best in you! I don’t pay attention to what other’s say about you, or even what you think of yourself. I make up My own mind.

Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God-confidence. Be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. My strong hand is on you. You are who you are through My gift and My calling. The only way to accurately understand yourself is by what I’m doing and what I’m doing for you, not by what you are and what you do for Me.

You must begin with your own life-giving lives. It's who you are, not what you say and do, that counts. Your true being brims over into true words and deeds.

Learn to appreciate and give dignity to your body, not abusing it, as is so common among those who know nothing of who I AM. I have not invited you into a disorderly, unkempt life, but into something holy and beautiful—as beautiful on the inside as the outside.

Don’t primp before the mirror or chase the latest fashions, but instead do something beautiful for Me [and you’ll] become beautiful doing it. I will make you holy and whole, put together—spirit, soul and body. I [will] make you everything you’re meant to be! I care nothing for the surface. I desire you—your true self!

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. If you're content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty. Content with who you are and where you are, unanxious, you'll live at peace.

NOTE TO SELF: What He said! Now we just need to believe it…and be content with who we truly are.

{Today, tell God what you like and don’t like about yourself. Be honest! Then let God show you how He sees you.}

Disclaimer: REMINDER FROM GOD portion of my blog is strictly scripture. It is not embellished by any of my own thoughts or words. Scriptures have only been changed to reflect the voice of God speaking, using words such as “I,” “My,” and “Me.” [Words in brackets] are my only additions; however, they always keep to the main context of the scripture. Scriptures are referenced as a resource, typically from The Message translation.

  1. The truth is that when we compare by appearance. We short change ourselves the outside doesn't tell the whole story. And its common to transfer emotions via this entryway into one's soul. This is exactly the subtlety God spoke of about man's enemy . There is a song 'i'll be my own best friend'. That speaks this in a song. The focus of beauty on the female, the ladies are more suseptible of course. the best phrase i can think of is that ' Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

My advice to anyone is don't listen to any negative hurtfully designed words of the devils and the people who act as they act, say what they say, and do what they always do. Just ignore the idiots. God will take care of them. It's a promise. Children of God the Creator of Good speak words of Life.
We should have a grateful heart each morning. No more dregging up yesterdays but instead hopeful for tomorrows whole and alive! God thought you were cute when you were a bald and fat little baby. He surely thinks so now also. The Lord says to Come as you are and leave healed for every tomorrow.
    Awesome scripture references, thanx :)

  2. You're welcome, Hannah! I'm so glad that you get so much out of these blogs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...it means a great deal to me.

  3. This is wonderful I love what you said about being true to yourself. Staying true to yourself comes with maturity.

Some people get it early, and some later, and some never get it. Unfortunately many people live a lie everyday of their life. Living in the Light of Truth strips off the unnecessary layers, and allows us to live our truest self.

We should Love, Live, and be Happy with the life God prepared for us to live. We live for His beauty, and deires.

When we seek God first everything else will follow. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. Living a Holy life is beautiful in the eyes of God.

  4. You are so right, Debra. Thanks so much for your insight and thoughtful words!

I want to hear from you! Thank you so much for responding to my post.
