The Great Prophet: YOU

fire in my heart

MY PRAYER: Lord, my heart aches for a Word from You; a Word of blessing, even a confirmation that good things will come in my life. I feel a calling on my life, but I pray that someone would speak it into my spirit. Father, is it possible that I can prophesy over my own circumstances?

REMINDER FROM GOD: Return to Me and I will restore you. Use words truly and well. Don’t stoop to cheap whining. Choose good words, not useless ones. Utter what is precious, not worthless. Separate the precious from the vile. Then, and only then, you’ll speak for Me. Let your words change [yourself and others]. Don’t change your words to suit [anyone else].

My friend, take to heart what I’m telling you. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding; set your heart on a life of understanding. If you make insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, searching for it like a prospector panning for gold…before you know it you will know the knowledge of Who I AM.

My Word is in your heart like a burning fire. I’ll make every word I give you come true. I have chosen you, and my Good News I gave you didn’t come merely with words, but with power! So you eat the fruit of your own words, because the tongue holds the power of life and death. What will you choose to eat? Poison, or fruit? [Speak life and eat the fruit of My Goodness.]

{Jeremiah 15:19-21 (various versions), 1:12; Proverbs 2:1-5; Jeremiah 20:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; Proverbs 18:21}

NOTE TO SELF: So many times we go to our Pentecostal churches hoping to receive “a Word from God” from one of His chosen prophets. But has it ever dawned on you that maybe you are your own great prophet? That maybe the power of life and death for your own life is sitting right on the edge of your tongue?

I believe that when we hope for a Word from God we know exactly what we want to hear. We never want to hear doomsday reports, but instead we hope to hear Words of encouragement and blessings. We want someone to solidify what we believe God has placed in our hearts. Yet we wait for someone else—who may never come—to speak those very words into our hearts, while we could be doing it ourselves.

Here’s an experiment I want you to do today. Ask yourself these questions:
  • Is there a situation in my life that I’d like to see changed?
  • If God could send someone into my life to speak His Words of encouragement directly to me, what would they be?
  • Does what I want stand in agreement with God? If so, what are the scriptures to verify it?
Next, get a piece of paper and pen and write out a prophesy for yourself as if a great prophet were speaking it into your life. Here’s an example of mine:
“God is using me in a mighty way. He is using my testimony to change lives and renew hope in others. He is using my blog and my writings to bless, encourage, and inspire greatness to everyone who reads it. Great and amazing successes are prospering from my blog.
God is preparing my path and setting the right people on it who will see my value and worth, making writing offers and presenting paying speaking engagements. God is using my mouth to speak His Truth in a powerful way.”
What will you prophesy into your life today?

{You may not see things happen right away. Prophesies usually never happen overnight. So don’t stop speaking your prophesy. Keep speaking life everyday and watch what God will do!}
