Who is God?

God is
“I AM.” Exodus 3:14

MY PRAYER: Lord God, even in our simplest form of faith or religion we are always taught first and foremost that You are our Father in heaven. That seems like an easy concept to grasp, but there has to be more to You than that. When unbelievers are in need, who should we say You are?

REMINDER FROM GOD:  When Moses asked my Name, I told him, “I Am that I AM.” (Jehovah—I AM.) Jehovah-Elohim, I AM Lord God, the Redeemer-Creator. Jehovah-Elohim-Saboath, I AM Lord of Hosts. Jehovah-Jireh, I AM the Lord who sees and provides. Jehovah-Rapha, I AM the Lord that heals. Jehovah-Rissi, I AM your banner. Jehovah-M’kaddesh, I AM the One who sanctifies. Jehovah-Shalom, I AM your peace. Jehovah-Shaphat, I AM the Judge. Jehovah-Rohi, I AM your shepherd. Jehovah-Tsidkenu, I AM your righteousness. Jehovah-Shamah, I AM always here, ever-present. I AM the way, the truth, and the life. I AM a God of grace and compassion. I AM El-Olam, the everlasting God. El-Shaddai, I AM all sufficient and almighty. Adonai, I AM the Master, Owner and Ruler of all. I AM Immanuel—I AM always with you. I AM forgiving, patient, and full of love. I AM your teacher, teaching you to live wisely. I AM your hope, help, and shield. Jehovah-Gibbor, I AM mighty! I AM faithful to My Word. I AM your Father in heaven who forgives your sins. And I AM the Savior of the world.

{Exodus 3:14; Genesis 2:4; Jeremiah 15:16; Genesis 22:14; Exodus 15:26; Exodus 17:15; Leviticus 20:8; Judges 6:24, 11:27; Psalm 23:1; Jeremiah 23:6; Ezekiel 48:35; John 14:6; Nehemiah 9:31; Genesis 21:33, 17:1; Psalm 147:5; Nehemiah 9:17, 20, 8; Isaiah 42:13; 1 John 4:14; Matthew 7:11}

NOTE TO SELF: “I AM that I AM” simply means, “I will be all that I will be.” In plain terminology, He is our everything. He is everything we need Him to be at any given time or circumstance. Yes, He is our heavenly Father, but He is so much more than we could ever imagine.

So then, who is God? He is our: redeemer, creator, Lord, provider, protector, healer, peace, righteousness, judge, strength, ruler, guide, hope, helper, teacher and Savior.

God's character is gracious, loving, wise, compassionate, faithful, forgiving and patient. He is always there listening and attentive to our needs. When He forgives us, He sanctifies us and makes us whole.
God is the great I AM. He is all you’ll ever need.

{Who do you need God to be in your life today? Call upon the Name He has provided for you to know who He is. “God, You are Jehovah-Rapha, our Healer. Heal [insert name] today, as Your great and mighty Name proclaims!”}
