Power & Authority

“Those tormented with impure spirits were all healed.” Acts 5:16

MY PRAYER: Lord Jesus, there are many believers who claim that biblical miracles are a thing of the past. They also say that You no longer heal,and those types of powers were only given to You to prove that You were the Messiah. Are signs and wonders a thing of the past, and do we as believers have the power and authority to perform miracles?

REMINDER FROM GOD: The spiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of My Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spiritually alive, you have access to everything My Spirit is doing. You have Christ’s Spirit. I said that you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and you will receive power when It has come upon you. Through the outpouring of My Spirit, you shall prophesy, and I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath. For the promise is to you and your children. I Am with you, and I am sending you out to proclaim My goodness. I have given you the authority to banish demons and the power to cure diseases.

{1 Corinthians 2:14-16; Acts 1:5-8; Joel 2:29-30; Acts 2:39; Mark 3:15; Luke 9:1}

NOTE TO SELF: We are linked to the God most High. We are directly connected to the Creator of the universe. Jesus has not only made a straight route directly to our Father, but He has also handed over His power to us to heal the sick, cast out demons, and intercede for people’s needs.

Although we may seem only human in the natural, but when baptized in the Holy Spirit we are gifted with the same authority Jesus had over everything. The problem is that for many of us we don’t believe that. We have truly convinced ourselves and others that “those things” were for Jesus and His times. Upon believing that deceptive lie, we’ve reduced ourselves to mere followers. We’ve relinquished our rights to the power and authority handed down to us to use for God’s glory. And we become frustrated and confused as to what being a Christian means. We puff out our chests and claim we have it all and know it all, yet we have no idea what it is we have to know.

There is a heavenly cord dangling from your spirit that needs to get plugged into the power and authority you have been given through the Holy Spirit. Read how I plugged in to the power and authority given to me with my son’s illness on my blog, Tormented.
