As an Example

cheese with whine
“I'm reduced to a whine…” Psalm 64:1

MY PRAYER: Today I come to you, Father, with words from an ancient King:
“Don’t let those who look to you in hope be discouraged by what happens to me, Dear Lord! Don’t let those out looking for you come to a dead end by following me—please Dear God of Israel” (Psalm 69:6 MSG).
I’ve always wanted to live as an example, Jesus. To be someone others could look up to, ask for help, and depend upon in their times of need. But now I find myself needing someone to do these things for me. I have looked to you for help, but feel like David when he said in verse 7 and 10:
“Because of You I look like an idiot, I walk around ashamed to show my face. When I poured myself out in prayer and fasting, all it got me was more contempt.”
I don’t know what to say here anymore, God. I’m at a complete loss. I want to provide hope and wisdom to those who are earnestly seeking You, but my troubles and sorrows are too great to speak of hope and promises.

REMINDER FROM GOD: Let those on the hunt for Me sing and celebrate. Let all who love My saving ways say over and over, “God is Mighty!” You are still in My presence. I AM wisely and tenderly leading you and blessing you. Deserters won’t be heard from again [if that’s what they choose to do], but you are in My very presence, be refreshed! Make Me your home. Pile your troubles on My shoulders. I will never let you topple into ruin. [Keep] telling the world what I AM doing [in your life]. I have marked you with grace and blessing! Smile!

{Psalm 70:4; Psalm 73:24-28; Psalm 55:22; Psalm 67:1 msg}

NOTE TO SELF: It’s often hard to remember all the good things God has done in your life when nothing seems to be going right at the time. I want to encourage others, and I want to speak God’s goodness and love, but I’m not the one with the answers. God is. And as I once said before, sometimes God doesn’t always provide those answers when we think we need them.

If you are faithfully joining me here, then you are a seeker of God. You crave Him, and like me, you will hunt Him down for as long as you live. When you come here and read this blog, you are actually calling the Holy Spirit into your presence. Please don’t let my circumstances discourage you; instead, let me be an example. Through it all I’m still waiting on God. I’m still putting all my hope and trust in Him. I am still relying on His strength to get me through what I’m going through now, and anything I will need to go through in the days ahead. And when I have a hard time believing God is on my side, I will do what the Psalmist did:
“I’ll go over what God has done, lay out on the table the ancient wonders; I’ll ponder all the things You’ve accomplished, and give a long, loving look at Your acts” (Psalm 77:11-12 MSG).
{Whatever it is you’re going through today, remind yourself of all the wonderful things God has done for you. Make a list and count your blessings. Post them somewhere where you will always be reminded of God’s goodness. This DIY Goal Board is a GREAT way to remind yourself of God’s weekly blessings. Just substitute the goal list for God’s Blessings. Click on the image for instructions on how to make a Blessings Board.}

  5. God has a way of directing people and information into our lives when we need it. He has provided ideas for working with flowers for this week for me and transportation to where I am scheduled to go. I don't have a vehicle. Thank you for your post. Recycling of ideas and things is becoming dear to me. I just have to check in with my Awesome God to keep His truth before me.
