O Dry Bones

“I keep a grip on hope…”
(Lamentations 3:21 MSG)

MY PRAYER: Another day filled with anxiety and frustrations. I just need a day where life isn’t always throwing me left and right and up and down. In my state of brief depression, I find my hopes dried up and dead, unable to believe anything good can come from them anymore. I lay awake at night, wishing I could see my future and know if there’s truly any hope left at all. My problems are mounting and getting bigger and bigger as days go on. I just can’t even see past these mountains of suffering anymore, God.

REMINDER FROM GOD: Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. Bring your life to Me and hold fast in confessing your hope, for I am faithful to My promises. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Am I not the One who said, “Prophesy to these bones, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!’" and those bones came together with flesh? Did I not put breath back into the lifeless bodies and proclaim, “I will put my Spirit in you, and you shall live”? Prophesy to that which is dead and it shall come to pass afterward. You shall dream dreams and see visions. Have faith in Me and then speak to your mountain and tell it to move, and you will have whatever you say. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. My Word will satisfy your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Draw near to Me, trust Me, and declare My good works. The Word is right here and now--as near as the tongue in your mouth, as near as the heart in your chest. Just do it!

{Proverbs 12:25; Psalm 25:1; Hebrews 10:23; Proverbs 18:21; Ezekiel 37:4-9; Joel 2:28; Mark 11:23-24; Psalm 103:5, 73:28; Deuteronomy 30:14 MSG}

NOTE TO SELF: If the power of death and life are in the power of what I speak, and God’s Word is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16), then it only makes sense that speaking and declaring God’s Word—scriptures—would bring life back into my seemingly dead-end circumstances. With every new day, I need to speak God’s promises over my life to resurrect my hopes and dreams. If I want to move the mountains that stand in my way, then I need to believe God--not only in Him, but also in His promises.

{God gives us so many promises to declare every day to crush the enemy and move mountains in our lives. What promises do you believe God will do in your life? Find a concordance and research scriptures that pertain to your promise and make them personal! Need an example? "God will complete the good work He began in me" (Philippians 1:6).}

  1. This is truly a blessing to me. It was no accident that I came across this site. I believe that the Holy Spirit led me to this. I am at the point in my life where I am confessing the Word of God in my life more. The Lord has led me to read a book called The Confession of a Baptist Preacher. I confess the confessions every day and I'm seeing a change in my life. Please stop at my website at www.sunnydlite.webs.com Please leave a comment.
