My God is Bigger and Able

God Is Able...
(Ephesians 3:19)

MY PRAYER: Lord Jesus, there are times I find myself listening to the world tell me that “God helps those who help themselves,” or worse yet, that “it” (whatever “it” may be) can’t or won’t be done. I then begin to put incredible limits on You. I make You so small in my life when I can’t see how “it” will happen. I’ve never been very lucky in life, so to speak, and that limited mindset often makes me wonder if anything good will ever happen in my life, especially when it seems so impossible.

REMINDER FROM GOD: To man most things are impossible! However, I make all things possible! I go out ahead of you to guide you; and in darkness I Am your light. Stand firm and watch My work of salvation—you are surrounded with songs of deliverance. I will fight your battles for you. Because I love you more than you can comprehend, I Am able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think! I Am able to make all grace abound toward you, that you will always have enough of everything. I Am able to establish you according to My Word. As for what the world says and believes, do not be conformed to them, but instead transform and renew your mind so that you may prove what is good, acceptable, and My perfect will. You have a different spirit. You follow Me passionately, so I will lead you into the Promised Land and give it to you and your children. Don’t be afraid of what it looks like, or fear what people say, because I Am on your side.

{Matthew 19:26; Exodus 14:21; Exodus 14:13-14; Psalm 32:7; Ephesians 3:19-20; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Romans 16:25, 12:2; Numbers 14:24, 14:8-9}

NOTE TO SELF: God tells us that He will help those who rely wholly on Him to help them (Psalm 55:22 and 28:7). David was just a scrawny boy when God plucked him out of the field and destined him for greatness. It didn’t happen overnight, but eventually David became King. Before he became King, though, God prepared him with trials, battles, and a giant. David believed he could take down that giant and didn’t listen to those who told him “it” couldn’t be done. He knew his strength and power came from God alone, and then used that power to rescue his fellow people. The wilderness Israelites didn’t believe that God was big enough when 12 spies were sent to Canaan and 10 came back and said, “There’s no way we can take them!” Joshua and Caleb, on the other hand, knew that with God’s backing the battle would be won! God promised them the land, and they didn’t see what the others saw, because the other 10 looked through eyes of fear. They were afraid of what it looked like and forgot that God was on their side, and because of their lack of trust in God, no one except Caleb and Joshua were able to enter the land. The others…well, they died in the wilderness, right where they wanted to stay apparently.

{Are you afraid of how things look, rather than being secure in what God can do? Are you listening to a world of naysayers and letting them dictate what God will or will not do in your life? Like at a fast food drive-thru, God takes our order and asks, “Would you like that super sized?” Our answer should always be: “Give me the biggest You’ve got Lord!”}
