Bloody Noses Nowhere in Sight

Scripture to reflect upon for Manic Monday: Proverbs 30:32
If you’re dumb enough to call attention to yourself by offending people and making rude gestures, don’t be surprised if someone bloodies your nose.

This is not a call to violence, but it's a call for us to stand up and do what is right. Not like the lunatic movement in NY that has spread like crazy wildfire across the world, but like the first church in the book of Acts.

I’ve been seeing some pretty disturbing things going on lately with this whole Occupy Wall Street situation. The world is in awe of this offense and everyone is following the stupidity of it. Everyone wants a piece of the ugly action. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame; regardless if it’s negative attention, they want it.

In the meantime, as we were watching football yesterday as a family, my son was getting into the Packers game, running back and forth screaming, “GO PACK GO!!” And then suddenly he was glued to the TV when a brightly colored cartoon came on, previewing a new television series, Allen Gregory. Tavin was enthralled by it and then I was incredibly disturbed when I realized that Allen’s family consists of two gay guys—but that’s not what bothered me. They showed a brief clip of one of the “dads” in his tighty whities, in bed with the other “dad.” I nearly threw the TV out the window I was so disgusted! These "cartoons" are specifically designed to suck our children in and occupy their souls into their weird world of sin and lust. Let's talk about the real "occupying" that's taking over our country! It's not Wall Street, it's wacked out nutjobs eager to steal our children's souls and seductively lure them into the depths of hell with them with enticing cartoons.

So many people of this nutty world think that Christians are the blame for the downfall of our society. They need a bloody nose.

I have a friend who is gay and I love her like a sister. That’s my choice. I don’t need to see her in bed with her lover in order to tolerate her lifestyle. I don’t need to be force fed this notion that I need to love her as my neighbor. As a Christian, no one needs to tell me something like that. I like her as a person. She’s bright, kind, generous and incredibly thoughtful. She’s probably one of the nicest people I know, and I regard her as one of my best friends. Those are the things that matter to me. She’s good to me and cares about my family. Although we disagree on many issues, we are still able to keep our friendship in tact by respecting each other’s opinions and considering them without argument. Again, I don’t need my child to watch her make love to a girl in order for him to respect her, too. He will love her and respect her because of the kind of person she is, nothing else will matter.

How are we to respect the Occupy Wall Street gang when they poop in the streets, don’t take care of themselves, yell and scream obscenities, disrespect anyone and everyone who works hard for a living or fights for their freedom, or is completely hypocritical when they take fancy photos and videos with their iPhone? What are they complaining about? They have it made. I don’t know anyone in my circle who can take a week off to sit in the streets, banging on tambourines, and shouting about the hardships they are enduring. My parents never bought my liberal college education, so I have nothing really to complain about I guess.

Here’s the real problem in all of this: no one is bloodying their noses. Instead, they are being hailed as heroes, while the REAL 99% of us are struggling to feed our families, make a decent living just to survive these tough times (not caused by Wall Street, mind you, but the trillions of dollars of debt this administration forced us into), and protect our children from the nightmare of horrific behaviors and visuals being forced down their throats by the media, the government, unions, teachers, and wannabe hippies. The media loves this group but hates the Tea Party patriots. Go figure…

It’s not just a manic Monday anymore…it’s a manic mainstream that’s driving us to the brink of destruction. Someone needs to start metaphorically punching these people in the nose by not standing for it anymore. Here's a group to consider in your quest to Occupy Truth and Righteousness: One Million Moms.

NOTE TO SELF: Occupy morals. Occupy ethics. Occupy the truth of God. And let Jesus occupy you!

Thanks Ericka Stubbs, for the inspiration and making me believe I make a difference in the world. I love you dearly!
